The thread is a 40 weight, 3-ply thread that is perfect for keen sewers who prefer to work with natural fibres. It's strong but has a stunning silk-lustre lustre finish, with a wax glaze that makes hand sewing easier. This thread should only be used for hand quilting and sewing as the wax will gum the needle of your machine if used for machine sewing.
